Has anyone used ultralite MDF for cabinets? If so, are there any disadvantages vs. standard MDF? E.g. does it take spax screws just as easily?

I've made-up stuff in the past in Ultralite. It doesn't take screws very well and they pull-out easily - the preferred method of jointing is something like glued dowels or biscuits or mechanical KD fastenings such as Rafix or Minifix. Edge finishing is even more of a pain that standard Medite - it won't take a crisp edge profile because the fibres aren't densely packed so forget anything fancy by way of mouldings because they'll all turn out mushy and it really needs a lot more sealing on the edges if painted. Surface painting is, however, comparable with standard Medite, and it takes veneers and laminates as well as the standard material whilst the weight saving alone on a single-usage exhibition stand can be sufficient to warrant its' selection.
