Yep, I'd also be a little bit concerned about anything dropping onto those.
It appeared to be IP2X inside before hand.
Was the MCCB replaced?
Is it just me or does it appear that the centre crimp has a different diameter hole?

I will agree one should not put stranded cable in a connection of that type as it is far too easy for a strand to get into threads and bind the screw so although it feels tight it's not.
And some form of crimp is required and does not really matter what type. Often the units come with some copper shim type material that you are suppose to wrap the cables with first to stop any strands from getting in the screws but tried to find it on internet and failed.

How could I take the picture with the barriers in place??

OK - if we take look at the photo of the board after your modifications:

On the original, the plastic cover I've marked with a red dotted line would have covered the terminal screws - presumably the little sticker on it warns of live parts underneath, or of the need to isolate before removing.

So what covers up the new parts you've added (I've highlighted one of them in green)?

On the original board, what would have been there, and why? What would it have been for?

If there was nothing there before, what is there now to cover up those parts you've added?

Although the domestic guys may go into live boards because someone has put a seal on the fuse. I would not have been allowed into a live board in many of the places I have worked. I had to isolate else where. One reason I needed a proving unit as often no main available to prove tester was OK.

I have in the past had problems getting the replacement metal foils which you should wrap stranded cables in to stop stray strands getting in screw threads.

With the extension kit as shown which is really to allow connection of larger cables there is normally a second shroud in kit which would cover the extension.

The only fault is may be not using correct size lug on the bit you have coloured green or at least posting a photo with this fault showing knowing this site that was asking for it.

At one time you could get lugs without the hole drilled I have used those in the past.

But only way I could find to replace the copper wrap that comes with the breaker as new was to steal some brass shimming from the fitters but have you seen price of that stuff?
