Anyone know if there is a RCBO available for this consumer unit?
Ive just got back from a customer who has one of these bad boys.
I have googled and i have noticed there is a 'POD' that you clip on to mcb? never come across that before? does anyone know of a rcbo for that model of Consumer unit?
thanks

Yep, those consumer units use pods.

You buy the pod in the mA rating you want the RCD part to trip at, and then clip it onto the circuit breaker type and rating you require for your installation.

Hey presto you have an RCBO :D

it is much less trouble to get a ready-assembled RCBO. But some stockists may only have "C" types on the shelf.

Some of the MCBs in Memera 2000 are a variety that the Pod does not fit. As far as I can make out, the MCBs with a little windows showing the red/green contact indicator will take it, and the ones without won't. Or you can look up the part no's if you want to spend the time.

BTW you can fit Memshield 2 MCBS and RCBOs into Memara 2000 enclosures (but not the other way round).

Pods very expensive though. Last time I came across one of these boards i just routed the two circuits I was working on through two Contactum RCD's in Gewiss enclosures.

Did you try adding the cost of your time while you @rsed around?

I'll bet it worked out about the same ££ in the end.

should have asked me.

Who knows what's on my garage shelf?

Didn't think it was that bad! Apart from the fact that pods are available, is it any different to adding RCD protection for a 3036 protected circuit in the same way? Or is it the choice of materials that you don't like?!

It's just such a rubbish way of doing it, and it suggests to me that you have no pride in your work.

The part is available to upgade the MCB with no messing, no additional wiring, and no horrid looking enclosure at the side of the CU.

I wonder how much longer it took messing about putting in all that stuff, when you could have just clipped an RCBO pod on. Did your customer really save much money when they have paid for you extra time?

Oh and contactum is not very good either.

It is acceptable to put a standalone RCD with a BS3036 board as there is no other option.
