Hi,

I am trying to buy MH lamps for some fittings at work. I have obviously confused the local supplier because we currently have high bay fittings with tubular enclosed rated lamps fitted without safety glasses.

The lamp is an Edison EDHPIT400, so basically, I need an open rated version of that.

I mustn't be asking the right questions. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Do the fittings you have have a safety glass?

It is usual to use eliptical lamps in high bays, and generally tubular in low bays (although eliptical can also be used).

There is no lamp available that allows you to omit the safety glass (as far as I am aware?).

I have lots of sets of high-bays and all but one set have tubular fittings. there are sons which dont have safety glasses and some eliptical open rated MH lamps with safety glasses.

I have seen special tubular lamps for low bays which dont need the safety glass but they can only be installed horizontally.

This set I am looking at doesnt have the safety glass and we cant fit them either. They have tubular MHs in them which should have the safety glass.

So, i guess I need an HPIE which is open rated..

Its too hot to go up to the control gear just now, ill send someone up next week maybe

Honestly, what was wrong with the 1000w tungstens that we have. Might get them fitted everywhere and have done with it :)
