Metal Metalic Mosaics Protective Plastic

Hi,

I have put up some Mosaic tiles and some are small shiny metal ones, only the metal ones have a plastic protective piece of thin plastic.

There are no instructions with the tiles that mention it, should I be removing this before grouting or leave on to prevent scratching?
