Metal window frame supports.

Hi all.

I'm replacing the exterior tile sill of a metal window. Having removed the old tiles, I have found that the window frame is supported underneath by a couple of L-brackets set into mortar.

Could anyone please tell me where I can get suitable replacement L-brackets? What material would I be looking for?
Also, the mortar that the brackets are set into is much harder than that used with the tiles. Is this likely to be just a stronger sand/cement mix, or do I need to add something else?

@accelerator The surveyors when we bought the place had it as 'built around 1920' and I guess the windows are probably original. I think they are steel frames. Perhaps Crittell, but I'm not sure.
