British Gas have got themselves confused on a small development of 6 houses as to which meter is fitted where and know want know which meter is on which plot and have asked for the serial number.
Question is which of these numbers is the serial number?
Thanks

personally I'd take careful readings and save what you owe if they are requesting less than your useage. Until they come out and sort it out themselves.

Why not send them photos like the one you have posted and leave them to decide what number interests them?

Kind Regards, John

Agree with the above. Are your neighbours aware of the problem?

I’d be telling BG to come out and inspect them - and if they don’t, write to the CEO

That said do any of the visible numbers match anything on your bill? Do the readings tally with your bill.

What if the cable is brown/black/grey?

I must admit I ike to notice that some manufacturers etc like to use serial numbers yet do not always call them serial numbers or explain them and plus the often have a serial nmber or three that are totally irrevant to us mere mortals.
I do wonder if it`s just a ploy to make themselves look more important. ;)

As @JohnW2 has said, they will want the MPAN number/s. I can't really show you mine, it is not something one wants to show on the internet. There is one for import, and one for export, if you don't export only one number. But

may have a different system, and different colour cables to the UK, and the cable colours have nothing to do with the original question.
