hi,

anyone have any experience of this type of combi Oven/microwave? Do you know if they just plug in or if they need an fcu or a 45A DP switch..

actual oven:

it's going to be placed in a 600 tall lader unit (MFI kitchen)

thanks

Trevor

What's its rating? This is the deciding factor. You tell us, theres no information on Neff's website. There will be a rating on it in watts or kilowatts somewhere. Normally behind the door, or on the back panel

from experiance alot of the neff combination micyswaves are 16amp.

dosent mean this one is tho.

whats the rating?

amps/watts?

unfortunately that's the problem, I don't have it yet, it's coming with the kitchen.. but the plasterer is due before the kitchen and I am struggling to get any info out of MFI..

assuming it was 16A - if I round that up to 4kW it looks like I should be okay with 2.5mm TW&E, presumeably tho that should be run back to an MCB (3volt drop over 10m to CU) from a DP switch, rather than spurred off the ring main on an FCU?

I have a roll of 6mm TW&E, if I need to go back to the CU am I better off using this with a 20Amp (min) DP switch? slight overkill I guess..

I will email NEFF and see if I can get any more joy out of them.. quite why they don't have that info redilly available I don't know

thanks

If you're running a new radial for it, I would be inclined to do it in 6mm, so that it will be ready in case one day you decide to put a double oven in. A 20A DP switch or a cooker switch (!without socket!) will be suitable. And a 16A MCB.

If you spur it off the ring you will be limited to 13A by the FCU fuse.

If you have no Electric Cooker Circuit at all (because you use a Gas cooker) then you definitely need one in 6mm (or 10mm if you have a big kitchen that some day you may want a Range cooker in).

thanks, that's great! Will go with the 6mm radial. Will have to go with a 45ADP switch looking at it as it will need to match the rest of my switches and they don't do a 20.. unless it can go above the larder in which case I could go white as you wouldn't see it? you'd need steps to get to it then though which doesn't sound too accessible :)

thanks

let us know how you get on trev ,im intested in what rating it is myself.

Ive used 4mm back to the board before as they are quite tight on termination.

will do - might be a few weeks as the kitchen isn't due till late march - although given everything that needs doing before then I wish it were longer! :)
