Microwave: Goldstar ER946ME stopped working

Hiya,

My MW just stopped working.
It was fine at first, then no power, or light (fuse is ok.).

I'm assuming (hoping) that the bulb has gone, so stops the main power !
Is anyone aware of whether this is so please ?
Any idea what bulb this takes please ?

I do tend to leave the door open for a while after cooking/heating, to stop condensation build up, so I assume it does cut the life of the bulb down a bit.

If its not working at all it wont be the bulb.
If you have checked the fuse in the plug & its ok, have you checked the plug connections.

Have you tried another appliance in the same socket?


There may be an internal fuse in the m/wave.

The socket is a double one with the fridge in one & MW in the other. Just tried both - both o.k.

It's been in the same place for years, never moved. I guess it's the case coming off tomorrow (I did have a few hours spare !?)
Just off to hospital now, so todays out.

Strangely enough, the last 3 repairs I've done, turned out to be TCO's.
Different items,,, different addresses.

Well,
1) Bulb has blown (25w T170)
2) Internal fuse blown (10A - 32mm).

I suppose this might have been caused by leaving the door open,,,, anyway, gotta trying finding these items in west cornwall (it does have some good points !?)

I get most of my bits by post, not as remote as you, but I cant be asked to drive 15miles.

Bulb going probably caused fuse to pop.
