Miele Dishwasher G1180vi - All lights flashing!

My 6 year old Miele Dishwasher G1180vi - stops 6 minutes after
the beginning of a cycle, the buzzer sounds and all the YELLOW lights flash. Opening the unit reveals water sitting at the bottom.

After switching the unit off and back on again, closing the door DOES allow the water to drain away.

Could anyone suggest what could be causing this?

These symptoms can mean any one of several possible error codes. The secret to find out which one is to identify the flash sequence of the "energy save LED" only. It can flash slow, fast, or a combination of both in a repeating sequence. But it shouldn't flash in the same way as the rest of the LED's. You need to identify the sequence.
