Can anyone tell me how to remove the heater box from a Miele PT 7136 tumble dryer without dismantling the whole appliance !!

I've never worked on a pt version but on some if the domestic versions access is through the inside of the drum. Allen keys go through the "grille" and there are two Allen bolts. May be covered in fluff. May have to turn the drum to align the holes.

Thanks, but definitely no access throughout the drum on this model. I tlooks like I need to remove the exhaust tube to access the heater but it also looks like i'd need to virally remove the whole casing !! Any other thoughts ?

Have you released the bearing at the back that holds the drum in place? If you disassemble the whole unit will the drum not be in the way.
Here are old photos showing the location of my hidden bolts. The pictures need to be rotated 90 degrees.

Richard, sorry for being thick but do I need to remove the drum to access the heater box ? Can I not access from underneath ?

If I need to remove the drum, is the method you've described above the way to do it ? Are you saying the drum bearing is in a mounting that you can remove by undoing the two bolts through the drum ?

Cheers,
