Miele s7000 vacuum red light staying on

Hello, I think I must had got a bad one of these. I have checked the machine again for any blockages etc. and all is clear but it has cut out when been used and the red light is staying on? I presume that this is according to the ,manual linked to some form of thermal protection device built into or near the motor? can anyone please give me a steer on what to look for or test
