miele washer no power

Hi
Weird this washing machine works OK for a few washes then no power when switched on. Emptying the filter seems to let it power on again and the water in the filter is a bit pongy.
Anyone know what may be causing this?

I will be following this as I have a Miele 800 that is exhibiting these symptoms.

When we disconnect the timer/selector board from the wiring harness then reconnect it works again for a few turns then no power.
