Mini immersion feeding wet underfloor heating.

A badly-installed wet underfloor heating system is heated by a 3kW element in a tiny, foam-covered immersion tank no bigger than a thermos flask - no make/model visible. I need to move pump onto cool side as it has been heat-damaged. Can I orient the little immersion tank upright or must it stay horizontal? Would make life easier if it can point up like a rocket. sounds like a willis emersion to me about 14inchs long and about 21/2 dia one pipe at the base and one near the top.sounds like a good way to kill under floor heating...good luck
