Hi,

I'm new, please can I have some advice.

We have a mira 722 it's an old one, it has a drip coming from the lever that you change the water temp with, I had someone in yesterday to look at it and they said you can't buy the washers anymore to fix it we need a new fitting for £100, I've done an internet search and you can buy them, the local shop also don't want to sell me that they want to come and see it, afew years ago the plumber who fitted it replaced the washer, it leaked from the same place then, I just don't know how to do it once I've bought the washers.

Also the shower head keeps falling off, I can't find one that's the same again the plumber can for £60.00, so I'll keep looking.

The pipe that it's attached to is 15mm, would I be able to unscrew the end bit and put a different one on, I've seen shower replacement heads, is that how you do it.

If anyone can advice me please I'd be so very very grateful, I have taken photo's of it to help explain, but I don't know if I'm aloud to post them.

We really don't want to spend £160 on the parts then have to pay labour for a job I think we could do ourselves, with advice.

Hoping for a helpful reply,

Thank you.

Just an update.

I phoned Mira there sell the spares for £14.91 with instructions, they said it was quite easy to do, even though it doesn't look like you can undo the unit to fit the washers you can do it easily with the instructions, then I'd have to turn off the water and strip the unit and replace all the washers.

They also see the shower heads from £18.78, I asked if they sold any other's to fit but they didn't as the one we have isn't very powerful, she said a different one from somewhere else might fit, as long as it's for a 15mm fitting, and I'd need to undo it with an ajustable spanner and replace it.
