we have a Mira Zest 8.5Kw shower which has developed a problem. I can switch the power supply on using a cord pulled switch, turn the shower on but only get cold water regardless of the temperature setting. I have checked the thermal switch and get continuity, and high resistances in the heating elements. Is there anything else i can check. Water pressure is normal.

Run the shower for approx 2-3 minutes, do you get a kettling sound when finished?

I ran it for quite a while this morning but didn’t notice anything untoward, although I wasn’t concentrating. I’ll try again.

Yes I’ve got 240v. Is there a way to troubleshoot the selector switch. I have ordered one anyway as I can’t find a fault elsewhere. Failing that it’ll be a replacement, but finding one with a similar footprint may be difficult. I’ve noticed the current Mira showers have fixing screws in different places.

Problem solved. New selector switch delivered and fitted, lovely hot water now. Great outcome, only £43 spent plus massive boost of self satisfaction.

Glad it's sorted! The 'assumptions' which seem the 'most obvious' often prove to be the correct one!
