Hi all,

I have a Mira Event XS Thermostatic power shower. It has recently developed a problem where by it takes 10 mins or so after switching it on for the water to start flowing. I can hear the pump running but nothing comes out.

Also after turning off the shower the water still flows. It usually stops after 3-4 mins but today it wouldn't stop so I have had to turn off the hot water.

I have done some reading up on it and it sounds like the problem is the solenoid valve based on these symptoms. However, I have checked the resistance of the coil and it reads 3.36kohms which is only slightly under the required 3.4kohms, so now I have some doubts if that is the problem.

Do you think it is the solenoid valve?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

I am having problems with my mira sport shower , it starts hot then goes cold and keeps on doing this, no matter if it is on low medium or high. I have checked the filter which was a little dirty but made little difference. The shower head is clear and there seems plenty of water power. I am not sure how to check the heating element, there are 4 electrical connections sticking out of the heater tank the nearest ones to the outside are linked with a plate, I believe these are the neutral side of the elements. If one element is u/s would it cause this problem? I know it is long winded but I wanted to give as much information as possible

This should be a separate post, different shower different problem.

First you shouldn't get any heat from the low setting this is only a cold flow, the heating elements are not in use on the low setting.

How do you know the shower head is clear ? Have you descaled it ?
Have you checked the hose is not collapsing internally ?

The heating elements won't be the problem.

Cycling is due to low flow causing the tco to activate.
You've checked filter.
Is the isolation valve or stopcock on mains water feed to shower fully open ?
Descale head.
Check the internal hose for damage ie collapsing useally happens more when hot has hot flow through it. Or fit new one.
