I used to have the volume icon displayed in my XP taskbar in the bottom right corner. But its now disappeared. I went into Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices and made sure that the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" option was still checked. But still no icon in the taskbar. I've only got a few icons in the taskbar and nothings hidden.

I should say that my 2 year old on the PC yesterday, which probably explains a lot!

How do I get it back??

Oops, looks like I spoke too soon.

Under Customise, the Volume icon appears to have moved from the Current to the Past Items list. How do I move it back?

Last night I still had sound despite the icon not showing. This morning I don't appear to have any sound, even though the mute option in the Sounds and Audio Devices control panel is not checked??
