Hey, I hope his is a easy question

I have a mixer tap on the kitchen sink.

The hot works fine and when I turn it on I just turn it about 45degrees which i used to do with the cold tap!

Now the cold tap can be turned 360 degrees and no water comes out, It must just be a connection or something inside the tap.

Is this a common problem?
Is it easily fixed?

Or should I just send £50 on a new mixer tap?

Thanks in advance
Mike

It should screw onto the tap spline.

Check the spline has not worn away. If it does not turn the spline then time for a new one. :(

sounds as if you have quater turn lever taps?

If so then you will probably find that either:

1/ the lever has come unscrewed, check by popping the centre cap out of the cold tap and trying to re tighten or,

most likely!!

2/ the splines have stripped and if you are lucky enough to find a matching head then you need to replace that, but more probable is that you spend about £16 on a set of quater turn tap restorers and replace the internals and head at the same time.

Simple job and should take no more than half an hour for the DIYer.
