Recently bought a kitchen mixer tap from ikea(alright, there's the error), fitted fine. Both hot and cold have good pressure. Cold comes out fine in nice steady stream whereas hot sprays like a jet car wash all over the bloody place! Fed from a Vaillant Turbomax combi. All other taps work normally, as did original kitchen mixer until handle snapped.... any ideas?Simon

Do the manufacturer's instructions specify that the mixer can be used with mains pressure hot?

Know exactly what you mean.
This is possibly illegal so don't do it:
Remove the spout by taking the small screw out and pulling up. You'll see the centre (hot) supply goes through a narrow tube, about 15-20mm long, poking out of the bottom end of the spout. Use a sharp HSS drill, about 5mm diameter, and drill through the tube sideways, making 2 holes (ie both sides of the tube). Then both H and C can go up both channels in the spout and your problems are over.

The H & C are kept separate to avoid cross contamination if the mains fails. But since they're both on the mains I don't see a problem. Perhaps someone else will.
