I need an MK LN5920 mcb and can only find used ones, I know they're old and I'm not averse to using used if I must but I was wondering if there is an equivalent available?
Are there none of other makes which would 'fit'? I know that's not ideal, but personally would probably be inclined to regard that as the 'lesser of evils' if the alternative were to install a 'used' one (inevitably 'an unknown quantity') - particularly given that MCBs effectively cannot be tested.
Completely agree John, the idea of buying used 'fully tested' mcb's off the internet doesn't sit well with me either, I would rather use new. I'll have a look at that adapter kit, at least I could use a new mcb with that, but I can't say I fancy it other than a last resort, thanks though rf and lectrician. I can see this turning into a replacement cu.
Quite so - and, as I said, it is all-but-inevitable that the 'fully tested' is a complete lie! Even 'removed from a fully functioning CU' is no real good, either - since, again, one doesn't have a clue as to whether it would still 'work' if required, even if it had been 'sitting satisfactorily' in a CU for years!
