mode dial stuck

Hi, I have an Ideal Logic Combi ESP1 35 boiler.

I'm trying to switch the mode from heating + hot water to hot water only, but the mode dial is completely stuck and won't turn at all.
Is this a common issue, and is there a safe way to free the dial without damaging it?

I don’t think it’s common, and it should turn with ease. Cover (plastic) looks on properly, you could try gently tapping or even applying a little pressure where it says mode and turn it

I tried applying pressure but still it doesn't turn at all.

Ok - so the case will need to come off and the control box opened up, hopefully it's just the plastic knob that's @ issue/jammed and not an issue with the rotary switch on the PCB.
