Hi all :?:
I'm looking to put a mono pitched roof extension on the back of the house - max span 4.2m. Any advice on restraint to prevent spread at the eaves would be gratefully accepted. Roof will be open to the rafters with rooflights so trusses not a solution unless a couple built in at each end might do the trick.
thanks for your help.

when you say 'mono pitched' do you mean it will be a lean-to roof?

if so, then bent galv straps at the wall plate and fixed to the blockwork will be fine. the wall abutment will be enough restraint at the pitching plate as the wall in this case prevents the rafters from pushing or dropping.
