Monobloc tap tails; O rings

I recently repaired some tap tails which leaked. The original o rings had failed,and I removed the rings from some new tails I purchased.I now need to replace the o rings.I went to James Hargreaves who were unable to help.I have two questions

1.Can I use PTFE tape instead of an O ring?
2.What size of ring do I need and where can I purchase, please? I know Toolstation sell a mixed pack.

Kitchen flexi tap tails 1/2 inch flat rubber washer. If its a hard red one again 1/2" prestex.

OP said O-ring so took that to be the other end of the tails

I have found an identical set of tails and measure the o-rings as 8mm.

You need O/D, I/D and thickness.
