Mop marks on bonnet

Hi all, have mop marks on the laquer paintwork on my bonnet (swirles).
Any suggestions for removal, and what to use. I don't mind a bit of elbow grease. Thanks for your time.

Polish them out with a polishing mop and mild abrasive polishing compound, taking care not to dwell in any one area, keep the mop wet, and moving.

you dont use clothes or sponges or garage washing machines before you have removed the grit do you!!

I understand and know that!! It's a shame the previous owner didn't!!
