Hi

In order to replace my Danfoss motorised valve I will need to know whether its a shoe or paddles type.

Is there an easy way to determine this as from the outside they look the same and I cant find any photos or diagrams of the inside.

Thanks a lot folks :)

Pop the head off (2 screws) model stamped on brass valve body.

why do you need to know what it is to replace it?

It has a V or P in the model number, also the end of the spindle ia a different shape. One's a D one's a rectangle, I think, but not sure which is which. I fit fits it'll be ok.

Thanks for the help folks its much appreciated I will pop the top off and have a look before ordering :)
Thank you all very much

In answer to Nickso who asked why I need to know which it is in order to replace it: Its bust and so needs replacing. There are two different models that from the outside both look the same and do a similar/same job, replacement should be a fairly straightforward process but as Im not an expert I am not sure of the practical differences of either of the models, hence I wish to replace like-for-like and so need to be able to identify which one I currently have the bust model for so that I can order an exact replacement. :)
Also, in case you were wondering why I dont take it to the shop and ask for replacement, removing it means draining the system and having the heating/hot water system off. At the moment its very cold but I am able to override it with the manual lever so I still have heat and HW. I wish to mail-order the part so I can take one off and replace it all in one job.

Thanks again for everybodies time :)
