Hi,

I've noticed, late at night, that one of the motorised valves is humming quietly when the CH/HW is not on.

Is this normal?

Thanks

There's two of them actually; both Danfoss HPA2. They're really close together and not particularly accessible so I'm not sure if it's just one, or both of them, that are humming. They're both vibrating slightly if that's any help.

Thanks

I've fitted loads of Danfoss and as yet never heard them make any noise.

i wouldnt be surprised if its the pump running-would explain the vibration

Don't think so, it's very quiet. Unless the pump has some sort of tickover mode. 99% certain that the noise is coming from the mot valve(s).

I'll pull the panels off and make absolutely certain this evening!

Put a screwdriver to each valve in turn and your ear to the other end of it. You should be able to tell which one it is.

Nice! I tried using a kitchen roll tube but still couldn't tell. I'll try the screwdriver trick tonight!

Hoover tubes work quite well!
If you put the pump "between speeds" it WILL stop.
