Mould in hand wash basin overflow hole

Is there a way of preventing mould from forming inside the overflow hole and what is the best way of cleaning mould that is already there?
Would it be fine to use a mould remover spray and are they generally recommended for use in and around hand wash basins (on tiles above etc.)?

Spray bleach just use it once a week or so
