Mounting a monitor on a rafter

i would like to mount a 19" 4:3 monitor on a rafter (8x2 I think) in my loft. It's one of the 4 that run up at 45deg to the pitch.

Is it structurally safe to screw 2 or 4 holes in this beam to hang the monitor from. I could either fit it using 2 screws into the 2" front or maybe put 2 or 4 in and screw it in the wide side part of the beam?

Any thoughts or concerns as I don't want to compromise the integrity of the beam.

Presumably a flat screen not a crt job?
