I am wanting to move a wall socket to the floor (with a a flip up cover). What is the best way to mount it? A dry wall box looks too small as the flooring is 22mm and not 12.5mm as plasterboard is. Is it OK to mount (securely!!!) a metal box in the cutout in the floor and use this?

Thanks

David

I would always use a 35mm deep box, and put a noggin between the joists.

I have seen deeper dryliners used, a bit gash though!

Remember to put the box approx 5mm below the floor surface, as the sockets don't flush up tight to the box!
