Mouting box depth for cooker switch

Hi, I'm part way through installing a new kitchen in our house. As part of this we have had to reroute and replace the cooker switch. For convenience we chose quite a shallow metal mouting box for the switch, because this meant having to remove less plaster and brickwork. However, upon opening the docs supplied with the switch, it recommended a much deeper box than we had chosen.

All the wires fit in the box ok (just), so why does it matter - is it a hazard?

the problem can be that of heat (possibbly) but more a case of will all the switch "guts" fit in the box as well as the wires.

Also it can be a problem if you had to "force" the swicth on to its back box in that the cables insulation may become "damaged" causing a short circuit.

One thought, can you not use the origonal box?

Thanks. As it does all just fit in the box cleanly it should be ok in that respect. The original box was the wrong size for the new switch which is why we didn't just re-use that one.
