movano 2.5 diesel 06 plate

hi can anyone help i have a 2.5 diesel movano the engine just cuts off when you are driving seems like the fuel has just been cut off turn the ignition off and back on it starts straight away read the question below by tracker i have the same problem on my movano just wondered if anyone found out the answer ive cleaned out the tank and filters what next the code 1882 came up when put on the diagnostic machine .took it to vauxhall they wanted 200 pound just to tell me what the problem is please help its very frustrating cheers for your time


Please can someone help me I have an 02 Movano minibus 2.2 diesel and it keeps cutting out you will be just going down the road and the engine cuts out and the glow light comes on !!!!
You have to turn off the ignition and it starts up straight away it has only done 80000 miles miles and the dealer says its the fuel pump falling apart inside and need a complete new fuel system !!!!! I cant believe that as it runs perfectly when running and it does not smoke ect I think it must be a sensor or ?????? there is no muck in the tank or in the filter so I am at a loss and running out of ideas anyone help please!!!!

fuel pump failure is a common problem on these, sadly it breaks up and contaminates the rest of the fuel system and can get expensive
its probably better to fork out and get the diagnosis done sooner rather than later but £200 does sound a bit steep

thanks very much for your kind reply but i had a mobile mechanic out who looked at it first he says he dont think its the pump he said more regulator, sensor ,check switches but he was also are guessing .you dont know how they check the pump do you as i have spent a lot on it up till now and cant afford the 200 pounds at the vauxhall garage thanks for your time

the pumps are usually removed and flow tested etc on a machine, any particles present will be visible in the fuel.
Its a guessing game unfortunatly as modern diesels can be a real nightmare to diagnose faults on

cheers for that i have done what you said and had a injector leak test and i have 2 injectors that need replacing i have just got 2 refurbished ones and they will be fitted in the next couple of days im really hoping that cures the cutting out but im not confident thanks for your help i will let you know if it cures it

hi everyone ,an update on my 06 movano that keeps cutting out ,i have had two new injectors fitted at a cost of 400 pound ,which was cheap ,i drove the van 80 miles drove great no problems thought thats cured it as i had 2 injectors sucking too much fuel on the test i had done ,i went another 60 miles and would you believe it cut out again turned the ignition off then on as im driving, and it carried on as if it hadnt cut out .i have spent a lot of money on it ,and i still have not found out what is causing it to cut out , its very frustating, no one seems to know ,but i have read a lot of forums and it seems a very common fault on the movanos .any ideas what i can try next..your help will be great.
ps i have had the fuel tank cleaned out , changed the fuel filter changed 2 injectors ,fault 1882 comes up on the computer .other people have changed the sensors and still no cure help please cheers

You really need a diesel specialist, they usually know what they are doing and charge less than a garage.

Hi i have the same problem with my movano truck, it has been to the main dealer and came back with the same problem , costing me £260.
Have you had any luck on rectifying the problem

Def sounds like an electrical prob , don't know much on this engine , but it must have a fuel pump relay somewhere , or even a dodgy connection on the ignition switch. Think you would be better getting an auto electrician out.
