Hi, our old fridge gave up the ghost, so we bought a new one which came with a stupidly short lead (3 foot).
The socket is 8 inches too far.
Wire is in trunking, so i can easily access it and just out of luck there are 6 inches slack along the line.
Is it better to add a socket or remove the existing, join the wire with wago connectors in a wago box and then place the new socket where needed?
Wago box would be accessible.
Or just use a short extension lead although I heard is not good?
Thanks.

How is the existing socket fed? Is the circuit a ring or a radial? if It's a ring is it fed directly from the ring? a fused spur? an unfused spur?

In that case you may as well just leave the existing socket where it is and extend to a new one.
