I just had a local CH firm come and have a look at moving my Vaillant from the bathroom into the loft space. It will free up space in an already small bathroom. The Vaillant is about 5/6 years old, what would be the advantages of replacing the boiler at the same time?

thanks, that's sort of what I thought too, but to liberate space in the already cramped bathroom, I think it's worth moving it into the loft.

biggest problems is not being able to keep an eye on it. having to access loft to check pressure etc. also you may hit problems if your htg is maintained by large national firm with regard H/S. eg lighting, boarding, access, ladder. carrying certain parts into loft etc etc

plus i HATE blrs in lofts with a passion.

Not to mention frost stats, pipe stats as well

To be in line with building regulations you need to provide access to the loft. Banister rail stairs etc.
You can't just shove the boiler into the loft.
