I need my ADT panel moved 20" up the wall to make way for a new consumer unit etc.

I'm more than capable of doing it myself (I've designed alarm systems and panels in the past and when the panel was installed they used all the existing wiring that I had already put in) but I was wondering how ADT would feel about that?

I'd certainly make a neater job of the wiring inside the panel than they have!!!! One thing I noticed is that on one zone the EOL and Tamper resistors are inside the panel, not in the door contact (though there is room inside for them to be fitted).

I suspect they would charge £100+ if they were to do it.

PS: I have the installation manual for the panel.

Move it, BUT, leave it with the same mess, less likely to noticed then.

Seriously, if you tidy it, well you know, 'stick out like sore thumb' comes to mind.

I do understand you wanting to do it though. It's so embarrassing, the worlds largest 'take over' Alarm Co, has to make do with what they get, they will never change, cost them an arm & a leg.

There again it would depend on your 'Engineer', know him well?

Unfortunately, if you power down a G2 completely it seems you need the engineer code to bring it back up again -which I don't have.

Now, I could try to move it without disconnecting the battery, but I think I'll just get ADT to come and do it.
