Moving an Electricity Meter

Will electricity companies move their meters if asked?
We've just bought a new house and the meter is in an unusual place, at the top of the wall next to the chimney breast in the living room. We could do with moving it to somewhere we can reach it and box it off neatly.

Yes. I had them move mine.

Expect to pay highly!

Tip:
If possible have the new location ' back down the line' of the existing location. Its easier for them( Hence cheaper for you) to cut back the supply cables, than to replace them with a longer run from their last junction point!
