I am looking to move my bathroom obviosly this means moving my toilet, what route would people recomend, a macerator or, as I am moving the bathroom from the back of the house to the front, digging down to hit the sewer? Also what has to be done (permission wise) if I were to dig down for the sewer and any tips would be useful?

Thanks

Macerators tend to be just another thing that can go wrong!
Best bet is to connect to drains. Get hold of the plans for your house to see where drains run if you dont know or cant find out any other way. They should be with your deeds or get a copy from land registry costs you about 20 quid.
If your house is modern it will have a seperate drainage system so make sure you connect to foul water drains not surface water.

Building regs applying to drains are here

You may need planning consent if you have to do any underground drainage work so contact local authority planning dept to check.
