Afternoon All,
I'm sure this question has been asked before but depsite searching i wasn't able to find an answer to my questions, lots of similar ones.

I am away to start revamping my ensuite and would like to clarify moving the toilet. Basically, its on the right hand side of the wall and i would like to move it to the left hand side of the same wall (approx 1meter to the left) The current soil pipe comes out of the wall (not through floor) and heads straight back through the eaves and into the stack. Runs & drops aside am i correct in thinking that i can simply cut the current soil pipe back, insert a couple of bends and have it coming out where i want?

thanks Andy. I'm not a plumber but like to think of myself as competent with this sort of thing. I've worked on smaller, 40mm waste and understand it but have never been involved with 4" before. I had a look at fittings required and am given the choice of single socket and double socket. Assuming the socket is the part that mates to the pipe? I would need two double socket bends and some straight pipe for connecting the flexible pan connector to? When would someone use single socket?

Both single and double socketed fittings have they're own uses! If you buy a length of soil pipe it will probably have a socket on one end, so you may find you need one double and one single socket bend.

Also if you can avoid using a flexi pan connector then i'd do so. Make sure the new section has a fall away from the pan to the stack otherwise you'll soon have problems.....

If you've not used 110mm before remember to chamfer all cut ends before jointing and put a smear of silicon lubricant on the seals before pushing pipe home. (Otherwise you run risk of disturbing the seal and then a leak! )
