Moving water meter cable

In our bathroom the water meter cable is laid diagonally across the floor underneath the carpet in a gap cut in the underlay. We want to replace the carpet with vinyl which will entail screeding the floor first to get it level and smooth. So we now want to move the water cable so that it goes around the edge of the room as we do not want to encase the cable in screed concrete.

Has anyone had any success with getting Severn Trent, or other water utilities, to quickly do what should be a quick job like this?
