multi finish on moisture resistant plasterboard

HI

I'm boarding out a dormer bedroom in a 1850s cottage , it was recommended that i used moisture resistant board due the boards construction.

I'm halfway through boarding and have just read the boards need to be primed before skimming it was my intention to just skim with multi finish.

although the paper on the boards is blue it doesn't look any different to standard board i cant see any reason multi finish will not adhere is the priming necessary for my application?

I think the surface of moisture resistant board can cause the plaster not to stick so well.
That's my understanding.
I used to seal with quality PVA.
Not a product I used much so I have limited experience
