Is there any problem with running two cables in the same plastic conduit? One will be for a lightswitch, the other for an outlet.

It just happens to be convenient to run the cables together, though of course they are not being wired together (!) I'm hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone and avoid extra wall chasing.

(I was considering using 20mm plastic conduit.)

Thanks!

There is no problem with running two (Low Voltage) cables together in conduit, other than the requirement to ensure adequate spacing so that the cables do not overheat.

All the technical details are explained fairly well here, though the simple rule of thumb is that you should not use more than 45% of the space within the conduit.

Given that, 20mm will probably be ok though you may need to do the maths and it may be best to go for a larger one in case you ever need to extend the ring to that outlet.
