My boiler reads 25.5 BAR pressure on the display, and I cannot figure out where my filling loop is. Any ideas?

I have an old Single Pipe Central heating system, being fed from a newish Worcester Greenstar 8000. I've included some pictures of the boiler and the connections underneath it.

My first question is...it says 25.5 BAR pressure, that cannot be accurate, can it? Is there a way to double check the pressure another way? There is no pressure gage behind the casing when I take the front off.

The second question is...where is my filling loop? Or how do I find the location to fill the system? Some of my radiators are not getting hot and I wonder if there is a lack of pressure.

1. Exact make and model of boiler please.
2. What you've shown doesn't look like a combi (not enough pipes), and if not you may well have a heat only boiler which might mean no filling loop required.
3. As you say, 25.5 bar cannot be an accurate pressure figure. I'd have expected vertical take off of the boiler!

Model name: Worcester Greenstar 8000 Life (GR8300w 50 R NG).

It is a heat only boiler, not combi. We have a hot water tank in the cellar that the boiler fills.

Why would it be saying 25.5 BAR....there must be a way to check or rest this?

Surely there must be somewhere in the system to add water?

@JonnyH12 - I doubt that is accurate at all, check the copper pipe outside from the pressure relief valve. Is it under guarantee? There seems to be a pipe disconnected underneath?

It might be under gaurantee - I didnt have it installed, I bought the property last year and this was done by the old owners. Its not very old but may have just passed the warranty phase. Can you point out which pipe looks disconnected to you?

Check near the cylinder in the basement

I have looked there and there is nothing obvious to me that would be for filling. Pictures attached.

It has an "intelligent" filing system which negates the need for a filing loop

Forgive my ignorance, but surley there must be some feed into the boiler for this to work...from what I can see from the connections, there isnt actually a cold water feed into the boiler.

I may be being stupid and not seeing it. But on the pictures I sent, can you mains in?

Sorry, I am not a plumber. BTW the following suggests that there is a manual pressure dial inside the machine. See page 9

1. As opps says, the boiler is self filling.
2. I'm still puzzled by the lack of pipework. Probably me.
3. Its a fairly sophisticated system with a low loss header. I think you may need some professional help to get the mystery pressure reading sorted.

Ah thanks. That's the drain pipe. I did think that might be the filling loop at first and took some water out, but it just pours into the drain.
