I have spent all weekend sanding down my floorboards in my front room. They are old pine boards, original to the house I guess that was built in 1860.
So after getting the boards back to a their natural state I bought some satin polyurethane varnish and put the first coat on, after 10 min the boards started turning orange and patchy! Not what I was aiming for! What I was trying to achieve was a totally natural colour.
1. Why has this happened?
2. Will it fade on the second coat?
3. If No to the above, what should I do? Shall I sand the Orange off?
4. What should I use to gain a natural finish?
Thanks
