At last I'm well on my way to getting the kitchen done. Design is done, units and appliances picked, price has been given. Just got to organise the fitter to come and price it up for me.

Question is, I'm thinking of getting Karndean flooring laid and I know that they lay ply before laying the flooring. At which point should I get the flooring done? After the units are in but not the appliances or before the units go in or something else (sounds like a quiz!)

Just need to know how quick I've gotta pick flooring out!

a new floor will make it higher, ok lets say 1cm max.

floor stops infront of where washing m/c goes, fitter makes worktop to w/m height, how are you going to get it in / out?

floor done after cupboards, is there enough room for w/m to fit?

Never thought of that.

Was just thinking - would it be best to rip out the old kitchen and then cover the entire floor with ply, get the new kitchen in? It's an old house so the floors aren't the most even anyway, so maybe laying ply all over would level the floor out?

Just tell fitter to allow for higher floor level, most free standing appliances have a generous clearance at top.
