Hi there.

I have to exchange some floorboards, but Im not sure shall I buy the same tickness of bedroom floorboards (13mm), or exchange all of them for thicker ones? 13mm floorboard in my opinion is too thin... Am I right?
The house was built in 1930.

Regards

Lucas

has the floor been heavily sanded several times   !!!

in general floors should be around 21mm thick but never less than 17mm

Hello Big All.

Distance between joints- 34cm All flooring upstairs is 13mm.

Its even problem to get these 13mms! I found only 18 & 21mm.

Also cover is different too, mine 147mm, at shop 112mm.

Thanks for good advice, Im gonna get thicker ones then!

I just found this sub-floor thickness guidance on another web site.

"for joist centres up to 450mm, 18mm thick board can be used"
"for joist centres of 610mm, 22mm thick board should be used"

the cover isnt 147 thats the worked size the coverage is around 6mm less as the 147 includes the tounge ;)

you can get 13mm txg but thats cladding and normaly has a v groove along the joining edge

i would definatly replace with 22mm boards or 18mm sheets as you will have no safety margin at all and lots off spring
