Help I replaced a broken tile in my son"s recently acquired flat 's bathroom. The next door tile was loose, when I took it off there was a triffid -like rooting system brown , flexible and wiry growing amok in the adhesive.Looks like it could be behind the rest. What is it please??

especially of any visible rotten or cracked wood.

It's a bit early, but my money is on a begonia.

No I forgot to photo! Have got a sample sealed in a bag but not with me. There is no wood, however we know the joists have gone with damp! Its behind the tiles above the bath

I took a photo of the mycelium which I put in cling film. It dried out and lost colour. It was growing flat within the adhesive and there was no red dust
