Hi All,

Researching wireless room thermostats and shortlist is Myson MPRT RF or Honeywell CM927. I prefer the features of the Myson (and it is marginally less expensive) however the white ones appear to have writing all over the front panel, which is less than aesthetically pleasing to say the least.

Do they actually have all of the words all over the front as the pictures appear to show? The black and chrome versions appear not to but would prefer white if possible.

Give me the honeywell one 7 days a week, no contest.
It is by far the most intuitive one on the market.

My father-in-law has the Honeywell and yes it is simple to use, however I'd still prefer the Myson one on features. I've read all the documents and it appears a doodle to operate too.

So, anyone with the Myson who can confirm if the white unit has the writing all over the front?

God that's fugly! All those buttons on show. Get the Honeywell.
That thing would have to mash tea and do a full English to get me to fit it.

Just to re-iterate - FUGLY! I'd have to keep it hidden or under a small cardboard box.

Thanks guys,

Agreed it is a bit fugly with all the writing! I wasn't sure if Myson just showed the writing in all of their promotional shots or if that's how they sold them but I can't find any images without the text.

Really weird thing is, the black and chrome versions don't have the text (but look even cheaper in my opinion!)

Indecisive now, might invest in the Myson mail order and see what it looks like - can always return it if it is really bad.

see what it looks like
You've seen what it's like in the video and agree that it is fugly - not just the writing but all those buttons. Just the buttons would put me off it, even without the writing. If the buttons had not been battleship grey but a colour a bit more aesthetically pleasing that might have made a difference.

Don't disagree with fugly, but *if* the writing is printed on the surface, gently massaging with a cloth dipped in brake fluid will probably remove it.

This obviously won't work with laser etched letters (Where you can feel an indent), but works with most transfers and printed techniques.
May cause a little discoloration if you're heavy handed, but it's a technique I've used plenty of times on models (With a cotton bud instead mind)

I'm a firm believer in form follows function. Not sure i can stick to my principles in this case though! The buttons don't bother me, it's just the writing.

Lets be honest, I'm not that bothered but SWMBO will have something to say about it!

Has she got a bottle of Cif/Jif? Get her to use it to clean off the writing! Still doesn't alter the battleship grey buttons - loads of them. She won't like that, betcha.

Fu... - sorry, getting repetitive.
