Hi,

One of my radiator stays cold. I'm trying to undo the TRV, I managed to pull the retaining metal clip upwards, but cannot turn the plastic knob anticlockwise since the main metal body has 2 very small metal retainers that are lodged into the brown plastic grooves at the base of the handle. When I try to pull the knob up, it's so tight, nothing happens, it looks like the brown base of the handle is secured to the metal body. How do I go about it without breaking anything?

I would really appreciate your practical advice.

Many thanks.

Get the metal clip right up under the head - then rocking slightly and pulling will release it. Then press the exposed brass button down repeatedly- don't pull it up with pliers !

This head is the same as my Myson TRV heads. I want to replace them with modern 30mm screw threads (Preferably Drayton Wiser). I can't find the right adapter. It needs to match a 30mm screw head at the top and also be compatible with the clip part of the valve body at the bottom. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Although the valve bodies are old, they are still in good nick. I am hoping to upgrade my TRVs without replacing the valve body. This would allow me to fit smart TRV's without changing the valve body. Trying to avoid plumbing work which is not my strong point.
