myson thermostatic radiator valve problem

i have myson trv`s fitted to my radiators i had them fitted in 1983 so they are 26 years old . two of the radiators had stopped working so following posts on this website i successfully released the pin as described and rad no.1 back working o.k. repeated process with rad no.2 but i have pulled the pin out too far, radiator has heated up o.k.but pin dosnt go back in again if i push it in water leaks out, if i move it also leaks out the pin dont go back in it feels as if i would have to hammer it back in which i am reluctant to do
can anyone advise please?

Time to replace the valve m8. If u free the pin & lubricate but it will only push in & not spring back out (some work on system water pressure rather than a spring) its buggered.
