Myson valve not working

Hi all

I hope someone can help me here.

I have a problem with a Myson valve fitted on my boiler in my airing cupboard.

I cannot get the central heating to come on when the swith is set to Auto. Everytime I boost the CH nothing happens. I have set the valve to manual and this seems to work but the switch does sometimes reset itself to Auto.

As far as I am aware, when the valve was fitted it was always set to Auto.

I am concerned that this will be a costly fix as I am absolutley useless with fixing things myself.

Any advice?

sounds like the motor has failed in the actuator.
is it a 2 port zone valve ?

I believe so but cant remember off the top of my head
